Tropical Kingbird
World's End Reservation, Hingham, MA 11/11-16/2000

This bird was located on 11/8/2000 by Sally Avery and relocated on 11/9 by Sally and
Helen Cross. It was identified as a Tropical Kingbird by its call. It was relocated by a
variety of people on 11/11. I managed to get these photos, shooting through
my telescope with my digital camera. The images are grainy due to the
gray, overcast conditions.

Note yellow breast and belly (all images); dark eye patch (3,5); long, heavy, straight bill (5,6); notched tail (3-7); and green/gray back (8).

I went back on 11/12/2000 and got a few more shots in better light:

These pix are all vignetted because I was too close to shoot at normal zoom. Kind of looks like the bird is silhouetted against a full moon, doesn't it?

this image is big!

I went back on 11/16/2000 and found the bird again at the
same (Planter's Hill) spot. I managed to get a couple more shots.
