A stroll around Daniel Webster Wildlife Sanctuary,
Marshfield, MA, on 3/9/2002

From the top of Fox Hill, two Whitetailed Deer -

and deep in the birches along the Secret Trail,

a couple of Long-eared Owls at roost -

(shot through the telescope, intervening branches and all) of -

this bird. Overhead, a noisy flock of Common Redpolls were a nice contrast to the silent, watchful owls.
